About Rod Jones
I've been an SLR photographer for 50 years. I switched to digital around 20 years ago starting with a great little point-and-shoot from Olympus and then via a procession of dSLRs, to my current Lumix FZ1000-2 which IMHO runs rings around all previous lens/body combinations! I tend to mostly take landscapes, buildings and weather, but I'm always on the lookout for unusual or humorous shots. I'm a big fan of Adobe Photoshop for maximising the potential of a shot, and sometimes enjoy getting 'creative', but mostly using techniques of my own, rather than the 'off the peg' Photoshop filters.

I saw this in the contest 'Winter Logo for the Midwest America Group', it got my vote! Great photograph! F/L

What a dramatic photo! The ice fog rolls in, there are ice floes crowding against the shore...but your eyes are immediately drawn to that lighthouse on the cliff! How strong these buildings must be to withstand the elements.
Rod Jones replied:
Hi Karen... I totally agree. It's a very dramatic spot. And very bleak in the height of winter!

A photo that is full of interest, no matter where one looks--the riffles along the shore line, ice chunks, rocks, and of course the light house up on the cliff. Love the take. This is would look great on a wall or on a greeting card. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for your kind comments... it is a dramatic location
